Saying I’m fragile
I try not to be
I search only
For something I can’t see…
One thing I love mixing is the innocence of lace with the roughness of leather. I love mixing the two extremes in my style… and… well, my personality too.
What better backdrop than this really cool street art I found in an alley of North Beach. Enjoy!
Being of Indian origin, my mother has suitcases full of traditional Indian garments she no longer wears. During our mother-daughter cleaning and chatting session, I decided to see what the suitcases had to offer. I came across this teal ‘maxi skirt’, which was originally the skirt to a lengha. Loving the color, flare and endless style possibilities, I snagged the piece… this is how I wore it:
(Tank: H&M, Skirt: Mom’s vintage Indian lengha bottom, Necklace: Miss Selfridge Belt: Mossimo (Target), Heels: Bandolino, Rings: Forever 21)
LADIES, PICTURE THIS: A Navy Blue 100% Silk Banana Republic dress that is absolutely perfect for weddings, interviews and going out for cocktails. Now, imagine the price tag: $100? $150?… What if I said $20? No, really… $20!

I know online shopping can be intimidating, but if done right, you can save BIG! I’ve included some online shopping tips below, enjoy!
Here are two tips for making online shopping work for you:
1. Take note of materials: some measurements may seem tiny, but keep in my mind a lot of materials have some give or stretch to them. Study up materials to know which ones do and don’t (you can find material tags inside your clothes to tell you exactly what the garments are comprised of).
2. Measuring Tape: Yea, you can measure yourself, but what I feel helps the most is measuring a garment that looks like the one you want to buy. For example, if I want to buy a t-shirt that is 100% cotton, I can reach into my closet and grab a similar 100% cotton t-shirt that fits me the best. Measure arm-pit to arm-pit for bust and shoulder to bottom for length. Now, compare the measurements listed in the garment you want to buy online… and voila! – you’ve got yourself the perfect fit!
As much as I love working with women’s fashion, I absolutely adore menswear. My admiration for men’s style has me researching effortless looks that make the everyday man a style star.
Here are my picks for essentials that every man should have in his closet to keep his look fresh and trendy all year round.
The Skinny Suit
(Courtesy of GQ)
The skinny suit is a staple piece that belongs in every man’s wardrobe. What I love about the skinny suit is that no matter what your shape, size or height, this suit will slim and elongate you in a matter of seconds.
(Available at H&M)
Guys, please stay clear of those long baggy cargo shorts every guy thinks does justice to him… it’s all about the fitted Bermuda shorts now. Bermuda shorts have the ability to make you look effortlessly sleek and trendy, and like the skinny suit, slim and elongate. Bonus points if you go for color! H&M has an excellent selection of colors and price ranges.
(G-Star Raw Available at Nordstorm)
If you live in San Francisco you know jackets are crucial all year round. My favorites right now are the Classic Harrington (Ben Sherman) and any Safari style (Club Monaco + G-Star) — I love these jackets because you can layer them so easily for extra style and are thin enough to be a spring and fall jackets.
The Plaid Shirt
Whether it’s a plaid or solid shirt, fit is key. Having slim fitted shirts will make you look lean and tall. On a colorful note: Have fun with all the colored plaid prints out there – if you’re a bit shy to wear a lot of color, try tossing a cardigan on top to make the shirt an accent piece instead.
(Allen Edmonds, Oxford Shoe)
Guys, when they say the first thing a girl looks at is shoes, it’s true (at least for me). Right off the bat I can tell if a guy is stylish by looking at his shoes (Boat Shoe/Oxford- You have me interested, Gym shoe – not so much). Have fun with them, go for different colors and styles you normally wouldn’t opt for. Lastly, have at least 5-6 pairs to choose from, you don’t want to be ‘that’ guy who wears the same shoes over and over and over…
Note: Boat shoes are super trendy right now, pair them with bermuda shorts or rolled up jeans and you’ve got the look of the season. Oxford shoes are a classic, whether with jeans or a suit, you’re styling all year round.
The cardigan is the easiest thing anyone can own. Toss it on top of any v-neck t-shirt, shirt or tank — and you’re golden. If I had to pick two essential colors to own, I say navy blue and black — however, I do encourage guys to go for colored options like green or red to add extra spark to an outfit.

Summer is on the rise and that means it’s time to stow away those closed toe shoes and toss on some summer sandals! Summer is a time for travel, adventures — and of course beach bumming. What better way to look oh-so-chic while being fabulously comfortable? Sandal Flats – Here’s some inspiration to get your hunt started!
Tip 1: Go for color! A splash of color on your feet will make any outfit look fashionable and will allow you to wear your whites and neutrals all summer long.
Tip 2: Color blocking is huge! H&M & Aldo have cute color blocking styles that fit any budget.
Tip 3: Animal Print! Animal print looks gorgeous and makes any outfit pop — especially cute when worn with bright colors (i.e. snake skin sandals + red pants = instant glam!)
Tip 4: Comfort! While shopping for flats – make sure there is some form of cushion in your shoe (the better the quality of shoe – the more cushion there is). Extremely flat sandals can be harsh on your feet – try tossing in an insole made for sandals – it’ll make a world of a difference and your feet will definitely appreciate it!
