Natural Beauty

If you’re like me, just the thought of putting chemicals on your skin probably freaks you out. I decided to start replacing my everyday beauty basics with natural alternatives. So far, I’ve come across some pretty cool products that i’m excited to share with you guys. Enjoy!

1. Karma Naturals Nail Polish Remover, $11.99

Wow! This stuff works better than any nail polish remover I’ve bought in the past. It easily took off my nail polish (even my Sally Hansen 10day no-chip top coat) and smells great. This stuff won’t dry out your nails and I only needed one cotton pad for both of my hands. I’m excited to try their other products!

2. Lush Deodorant, $7.95

After reading up on all the harmful chemicals deodorants contain (which ultimately soak into your skin, ah!), I decided to look for other alternatives. I tried Healthy Deodorant from Sephora, but didn’t love it after a while. However, I did try Lush’s deodorants after a recommendation from a friend and I like it so much better. I personally use the powder, but have heard great things about the solid as well.

3. Voluspa Coconut Wax Candles

I swear by these. I love the coconut wax candles by Voluspa. They have great scents, last for a long time, and come in beautiful containers. You can even use the wax as perfume by putting some oil behind your ears and wrists when it’s solid. If you live in San Francisco, you can find these at Therapy in North Beach or the Mission.

4. Indian Healing Clay

This bentonite clay is simply amazing. Even Mindy Kaling recently gave it a shout out. It’s great for oily skin, pimples, black heads, and skin tightening. Try mixing it with some apple cider vinegar for even an even deeper clean. The best part is the price tag, under $8!

5. Coconut Oil

I love using coconut oil as moisturizer because it absorbs quickly and smells great. I like to add a bit of vitamin E in mine by melting the coconut oil and mixing a few drops in. A friend told me to try adding a couple drops of ecuplytus essential oil, which i’m excited to try. You can get coconut oil anywhere. I personally get mine at Costco (~$30 for two huge tubs!).

6. Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap

Dr. Bronner’s has a reputation for making excellent skincare products and I couldn’t agree more. The products are vegan, all natural, and at a great price. I use this body wash everyday and it lasts me about 5-6 months. I love using the lavender one right before bed.

Hope you enjoyed my list!
